This knife with the profile inspired by camp knives with with edge thickness somewhere in between a kitchen and a camp knife. Edge is sharpened to a 1000 grit finish. The finish on the blade is near to a cast iron seasoning and is applied during the tempering process. Appears burnt brown to straw gold colour in differing light. The blade was asymmetrically forged and ground for a right handed user offering a smooth surface for your left hand knuckles to rest against while a relief was forged on the right hand side of the blade. The profile is relatively flat with a robust edge making it ideal for cutting meat between bones and joints. Handle is easily removable with a threaded take down construction. The fully stabilized handle is made of fir from my front door that has been fully stabilized. blade features a hamon close to the edge. Originally forged to be much longer and taller this knife cracked during its heat treatment and I never intended to finish it. During the cold Canadian prairie winter I found myself unable to forge new blades and decided to reprofile it into something useable similar to a small honesuki in profile.
